We Left Them Behind

We have cause to celebrate in this nation.  Finally we are making great changes to the juvenile justice landscape.  We have come to realize that these children, who have come into conflict with the law, are in need of direction and rehabilitation.  We have come to realize that even in the worst cases, they are just broken children.

While we have been diligent over bringing legislative changes for the future but we have forgotten those who have been victimized by our draconian laws.  We have forgotten those we willfully condemned for life, those children that we have decided to discard as so much garbage.

How can we turn our backs and not have remorse over the mistakes we have made?  Shouldn’t we right the wrongs we have committed against these children?

We are taking up this cause and asking Gov. John Hickenlooper to roll back the sentences of those already serving long prison terms in adult prisons.  We are asking to right the wrongs.  We are asking for lasting change for ALL of them.  First Colorado and then the rest of the nation.

Please help us get the message out by signing our petition at change.org – http://www.change.org/petitions/gov-john-hickenlooper-turn-back-the-clock-on-juvenile-sentences
